The ArtExpert Art Research Institute mourns the passing of Dr. Norbert Winter, founder and long-standing Chairman of the WINTER STIFTUNG HAMBURG. Kunst Kultur Soziales.

In founding the WINTER STIFTUNG in Hamburg in 2010, Norbert Winter gave lasting form to his conviction that art, culture and social responsibility are profoundly interconnected. His commitment to preserving and sharing art, supporting artists, and fostering cultural dialogue was guided by intellectual curiosity, openness and a deep sense of responsibility.

His dedication to the arts formed part of a much broader intellectual horizon encompassing science, philosophy and business. Norbert Winter regarded these fields not as separate spheres, but as complementary ways of exploring fundamental questions of knowledge, creativity and our understanding of the world.

As a non-profit institution devoted to cultural exchange and the advancement of knowledge in the arts, the ArtExpert Art Research Institute held his interdisciplinary vision in the highest regard and greatly valued the dialogue fostered by Dr. Norbert Winter and the WINTER STIFTUNG. We likewise remember with appreciation the cultural exchange and collaborations developed through partners such as Artforum Culture Foundation.

With his passing, the international cultural community has lost a discerning patron of the arts, an independent and inquisitive mind, and a deeply committed advocate for cultural dialogue. The values he championed, and the institution he created to carry them forward, form an enduring legacy.
